Research

My current research is based on the language accomodation between the Egyptian Arabic speaking immigrants interacting with the Maghrebi  Majority (chosen dialects: Algerian and Tunisian Arabic) in Paris (France). 

The study focuses on linguistic contact between Egyptian and Tunisian Arabic speakers in (mostly northern) Paris and suburbs the 18th arrondissement, Saint-Denis, Aubervilliers, Sarcelles, Créteil, Génévilliers. It explores discourse analysis to demonstrate how speakers adapt their speech in natural interactions, particularly in these urban meeting points. ​​​​​​​

The research examines mutual speech accommodation and the linguistic strategies employed in discourse​​​​​​​. This contact linguistics’ framework investigates phenomena such as code-switching, lexical borrowing, and pragmatic shifts during communication.

In the first year of Master's program, I wrote a thesis on Berber Phonetics Morphology, Syntax, and Vocabulary in Arabic dialect of Jijel (Algeria) completed with magna cum laude (Mention Bien). In the second year, I wrote a thesis on Berber Phonetics, Morphology, Syntax and Vocabulary in Arabic dialect of Shilha in the Souss region (Morocco). Completed with magna cum laude (Mention Bien)
