Research
The Tell Sabi Abyad fortress has been nearly completely excavated, and the remains of the buildings were often preserved to a considerable height. These circumstances render the site ideal for three-dimensional spatial reconstructions (using 3d modelling software) and agency-based modelling, the main objectives of my PhD research. In this manner, the objective is to learn more about how this complex structured human interaction and how it served particular interests within the Middle Assyrian Empire.
The PhD research is part of the project Consolidating Empire. Reconstructing Hegemonic Practices of the Middle Assyrian Empire at the Late Bronze Age fortified Estate of Tell Sabi Abyad, Syria, ca. 1230-1180 BC.
