Tanja combines a decade of experience in online learning with an interest in digital technology and how people (mis)behave in the digital space. She has a background in history, management and storytelling games, as well as an activist record on educational quality.

Having 15+ years of running online role-playing communities — as well as managing digital projects like MOOCs, SPOCs and other forms of Blended Learning in the last 10 years — Tanja brings a strong experience in online learning and community management to the team. She is also passionate about co-participation within Leiden University, and helps to run the Sustainability Network.

Tanja studied History at Leiden University. She went on to become a manager and Quality Assurance coordinator in Health Care before returning to her alma mater in 2010.

In private Tanja indulges in Cultural Studies at the Open University, roleplaying games (on and offline) and engages with sustainability, gardening and other green stuff. Tanja lives in Leiden.
