Professional Experience

T. Yasin Gürlesin is an industrial engineer who obtained his MSc degree from the Industrial
Engineering department at Middle East Technical University (METU) in 2024. Alongside his
education, he worked as a research assistant at the same department in METU for two years.
His master’s thesis focused on game-theoretic problems within the field of sustainable
operations management.
Yasin’s research interests primarily focus on sustainability-related issues in industries and
supply chains. He also studies climate policies and government interventions in terms of
sustainability.

Research Topic

Yasin works on a project called Lasers4MaaS. He focuses on shaping data-gathering solutions
to harmonize inventory development along the value chains of the Lasers4MaaS target
industries. He also co-leads the creation of a Decision Support System (DSS) that integrates
performance, sustainability, circularity, and cost information, along with stakeholders’
preferences, to provide tailored decision recommendations (e.g., ranking, sorting, choice) to
the users.
