Suiting started as a PhD researcher at the Industrial Ecology department of CML in October 2020.
Professional experience
Suiting received a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics in 2018, and a master's degree in industrial engineering from China University of Mining and Technology in 2020. During his master's degree, Suiting focused on system dynamics research and energy technology diffusion models, and had a great interest in the impact of economic activities on the atmospheric environment.
During his master's degree, he carried out two research topics, focusing on i) exploring China's carbon emission peak issue through energy technology diffusion models, and ii) the impact of household energy consumption patterns in different regions of China on PM emissions. In his master's thesis, he explored the impact of different feeding and scheduling methods based on agents on reentrant manufacturing systems.
Research topic
Suiting's research focuses on describing and quantifying the impact of IoT technology on industrial transformation and environmental systems. IoT technology may reduce the negative impact on the environment by improving efficiency and reducing unnecessary waste in production and transportation. Suiting's research goal is to quantitatively analyze the role and development potential of IoT technology in the value chain through system dynamics, as well as its positive effects on environmental emissions reduction.
