Fields of interest
I am working on cross-linguistic semantics, with a particular interest in the mass/count distinction.
Research
My research is part of the NWO project "On the representation of quantity: how our brains shape language" (Prof. J.S. Doetjes). My research focusses on the mass/count and how quantity expressions cross-linguistically interact with this distinction. I am particularly interested in those expressions that only combine with mass nouns (e.g. Dutch 'een beetje' or French 'un peu'). For my PhD, I am collecting new cross-linguistic data to gain insight into both the variation as the universal patterns found cross-linguistically.
