Sinéad obtained her Bachelor of Civil Law with a minor in social justice from University College Dublin (2020). After her studies, she interned at an independent housing law and policy centre, as well as a private law firm in Dublin. Sinéad graduated from the European Law LL.M. at Leiden University in 2022. Her thesis examined the exercise of executive power at the European level, comparing the initial Eurocrisis and Covid-19 economic crisis responses.

Since September 2023, Sinéad is a PhD candidate at the Europa Institute. Her PhD project is titled "From decision to action: European sovereignty and its place in constitutional theory". Alongside her PhD research, Sinéad is a Europaeum Scholar, taking part in a two-year policy and leadership programme with twenty-nine other social sciences PhD candidates from across Europe. In Leiden, Sinéad teaches on the European Law LL.M.
