Circular economy scholar for sustainable construction in the Global South.
Professional experience
Shiza is a circular economy scholar with over five years of extensive experience in planning and executing projects related to waste management, circularity, and just transition. Shiza has a background in Environmental Engineering and a Master in Environment, Science, and Policy. She has received technical training in landfill design and management and lifecycle assessment. She is an acknowledged member of the International Solid Waste Association. Shiza's professional experience spans Pakistan, Hungary, and Greece, where she has been actively involved in projects related to circular economy, marine pollution, waste management, and stakeholder engagement, securing grants and awards for her projects. With her core interest in the human side of the circular economy and material flows, under her PHD she is investigating material stocks in the built environment in the Global South.
