Alexander P. Gultyaev (Goultiaev) is a computational biologist. He works on bioinformatic research projects. His main interests are structures, functions and evolution of RNA molecules. In particular, he works on predictions of functionally important RNA structures in RNA viruses. These theoretical models are tested in experiments carried out by virologists; apart from working at LIACS, Alexander Gultyaev has an appointment at the Department of Viroscience of the Erasmus Medical Center in Rotterdam.
