Education
Ruhama completed her Bachelor of Law (LLB) at the Addis Ababa University in 2021, receiving the gold medal for highest academic standing. She was then awarded the Children’s Rights scholarship to pursue a graduate degree in children’s rights law at Leiden in 2023 - 2024. Ruhama graduated cum laude in the Advanced LLM on International Children’s Rights Law at Leiden University in 2024.
Career
Before commencing her LLM at Leiden University, she worked on child rights focused policy advocacy at the pan African and African Union level at Save the Children International (the African Union Liaison and Pan Africa Office) in different roles including Advocacy Officer. Ruhama has also worked as a research assistant, intern and in other capacities at law firms, government offices, legal aid centres as well as other international organisations such as Global Human Rights Defence and International Social Service in between and alongside her academic career.
