Research
Rik Lettany (MA) works as a PhD-candidate on the project ‘The Scheurrak SO1 Shipwreck in the Maritime Cultural Landscape of the Early Modern Netherlands (1550-1650)’. His research focusses on the construction of the Scheurrak SO1 shipwreck and how it is embedded in the development of the northern Dutch shipbuilding tradition known as ‘Dutch flush’.
Curriculum vitae
Rik studied Art History and Archaeology (BA, MA) at the Free University of Brussels and later specialized in Maritime Archaeology at the University of Southern Denmark. He worked several years for Center for Artefact Research vzw in Belgium and volunteered in different underwater excavations.
