Rashmi Patowary joined as a PhD candidate at the Institute of Private Law on 01 February 2025. Her research is under the project: Banks as promoters of social change: contractual, regulatory and liability aspects.

Rashmi has a B.A.,LL.B. (Hons.) degree from National Law University and Judicial Academy Assam, India. She also holds an LL.M. degree in International Business Law from King’s College London.

Before starting her PhD at Leiden Law School, Rashmi gained over six years of experience at eminent universities in India. She has held academic positions at National Law University Jodhpur and O.P. Jindal Global University, where she taught courses in the areas of banking law and financial regulation, and corporate governance. In 2022, as part of the Erasmus + Staff Mobility for Teaching, Rashmi also taught at the University of Gdańsk, Poland.
