Priscilla Yovia Rahmat is a PhD candidate from Indonesia whose focus of research and advocacy lies in women and children’s rights. Her current PhD research project is titled “Age of Consent in The Case of Sexual Violence between Adolescents” in which she aims to examine the dilemmas of age of consent application in childhood sexual violence cases with socio-legal approaches.

 She attained both her bachelor and master degree from University of Indonesia. Her undergraduate thesis focused on social rehabilitation and its impact on prostituted women in Indonesia. Then she took a different focus on master’s, in which she addressed the issues of personal data protection authorities in Law and Economics studies. However, she has been dedicating most of her time for studies on gender and sexuality. Her specialization lies on the issues of prostitution, sex trafficking, consent, and sexual violence. In Indonesia, she is currently part of various campaign projects for women and children’s rights, one of them being the 1st anti-child grooming campaign that was established since 2021 (Terselimuti).
