Professional experience
Oscar received his MSc degree in Energy Science and Technology from ETH Zurich in 2012, and his MBA from IE Business School in 2018.
During his MSc, Oscar focused on energy system analysis, renewable energy technologies, and energy economics and policy. He assessed CCUS projects in an internship at Alstom Power, and completed his Master thesis on a bioenergy fuel cell system at the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI).
Before joining CML, Oscar worked as a consultant and entrepreneur. In 2008, he founded his company in Mexico. After completing his MSc program, his projects have focused on developing innovative and sustainable solutions around the energy transition. In Switzerland, he worked at Keoto, an ETH-spinoff, leading the definition of sustainable energy strategies for industries, buildings, and urban districts. In the Netherlands, he worked at FutureBridge, advising senior technology and business leaders in the energy and mobility sectors, and leading thought leadership initiatives in the energy sector, such as presenting monthly webinars around major trends of the energy transition.
Oscar’s interest in developing high-impact, sustainable solutions led him to CML, where he currently investigates CDR technologies, and occasionally contributes to research on the assessment of animal welfare – an area of personal interest for him.

In Oscar’s current research, he assesses Carbon Dioxide Reduction (CDR) technologies.
