Mirjam Wever investigates the role of female sex hormones on socio-affective processes in the brain. She is currently involved as a postdoctoral researcher in the Changing Landscapes project in which she specifically focuses on the association between female sex hormones and interpersonal trust and social behavior in puberty, reproductive age, and after menopause.
CV
Mirjam Wever obtained her bachelor’s degree in Psychobiology from the University of Amsterdam (2012). She went on to study Neuroscience at the VU Amsterdam and completed her research master in 2014. In 2024 she completed her PhD research at the department of Clinical Psychology at Leiden University. Under supervision of Prof. dr. Bernet Elzinga, Dr. Marieke Tollenaar, and Dr. Geert-Jan Will, she explored the neural and affective signatures of connectedness between parents and adolescents as part of the larger RE-PAIR study (www.re-pair.org). Currently, Mirjam is involved as a postdoctoral researcher in the ERC project ‘Changing Landscapes: RiSE – REACH – REViVE’ of Prof. dr. Ellen de Bruijn at the Clinical Psychology unit at Leiden University. In this project she focuses on the influence of female sex hormones on social and non-social neurocognitive processes across the lifespan.
