Fields of interest

I am interested in the musicality of language and explore Baroque sound in Early Modern Dutch literature.

Research

I am working on a theoretical model that can be used as a tool for reading sound in written text. This theoretical framework is applicable to any field dealing with reading and interpreting text. In applying this model to Dutch literature from the Early Modern period I introduce a new approach to this cultural heritage.

Teaching activities

I have been teaching Dutch language and literature at secondary school.

Curriculum vitae

I hold a Bachelor's degree (cum laude) in Dutch Language and Culture with a minor in Drama Studies and completed the Research Master (cum laude) Dutch Literature at the University of Amsterdam in 2010. My thesis 'Geluid in Vondels Scheppingstrilogie' was awarded the Jacob Geel scriptieprijs and was nominated for the Taalunie scriptieprijs and the UvA-scriptieprijs 2011.

Since 2014 I hold a first grade teaching qualification obtained at the VU University Amsterdam.

At present I work as an external PhD candidate at the Leiden University Centre for the Arts in Society. My supervisor is Prof. dr. Frans-Willem Korsten.
