Marije Ploum studied law in Leiden (LLM Civil Law). During her bachelor's phase she participated in the Honours College Law programme and was a student assistant for Moot Court. After obtaining her master's, Marije studied for a semester at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg. She also did several internships at law firms.
She works on a dissertation on the preliminary ruling procedure before the Supreme Court.
