Research
My teaching and research interests led me to explore a variety of topics, including perception and production skills for interpreter trainees, foreign language teaching, speech prosody, Pronunciation teaching, the use of technology in teaching, memory training for interpreter trainees, and issues in translation studies. I also maintain active research interests in L2 fluency training, speech intelligibility, and speech comprehensibility. My current research focuses on the role of fluency training on EFL/ESL learners’ speech fluency, comprehensibility, and accentedness, involving both experimental/quantitative and descriptive/qualitative research.

Dr. Mahmood Yenkimaleki is a guest researcher in LUCL at Leiden University, The Netherlands. He is an Assistant Professor of Interpreting Studies and Applied Linguistics at Bu-Ali Sina University, Iran. He received his PhD in 2017 from Leiden University in the Netherlands. Soon, he joined VU University Amsterdam to do post-doc research in the Department of Language and Communication. He has published articles in leading journals, including Computer Assisted Language Learning, System, Speech communication, Language Teaching Research, Foreign Language Annals, Perspectives: Studies in translatology, and Interactive Learning Environments.
