Lea Hauser is a PhD candidate at the Department of Economics.
Her doctoral research focuses on examining the mechanisms that underlie changes in gender and social norms related to gender gaps in the labour market. The primary focus of her research is on the influence of peer effects among fathers and the role of social norms in part-time employment.
She earned her BSc in "Economics and Business" from the Vienna University of Economics and Business and her MSc in "Policy Economics" from Erasmus University Rotterdam. Her master's thesis empirically examined the relationship between unemployment and beliefs about gender equality across eleven European countries.
Since completing her master’s degree, she has worked as a Research Assistant at Trinity College Dublin and at the Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI) in Dublin. Her research in these roles has focused on macroeconomics and urban economics.
