Research
My research concerns the way in which in the seventeenth century the government of Amsterdam used strategies of wonder and usurpation in their new architecture, such as the Town Hall, to convince the public of their political ideas. This research is part of the ERC starting grant program Elevated Minds’ about the sublime in seventeenth century Paris and Amsterdam.
