Her research has consistently developed around gender and violence in Latin American narrative, short stories written by women in Spanish, and, in particular, Silvina Ocampo's short stories.

Curriculum Vitae

Karla Paola Cabrera Acuña is a researcher, literary editor at the feminist publishing house Editorial Gafas Moradas, and lecturer at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru. As a PhD candidate at LUCAS (Leiden University Centre of Arts and Society) she studies the representation of female rage in Latin American Narrative. She got her Master's Degree at the University of Amsterdam with a thesis analyzing the mechanisms of resistance to violence in fantastic short stories written by Latin American female authors. She finished her undergraduate studies with a thesis about the female killers in the Argentinian writer Silvina Ocampo's short stories. As an editor, she was in charge of the re-edition of the novel Por senda propia, by Angélica Palma, originally published in 1921. She was a finalist in the VII Amnesty International Madrid Short Story Contest 2020.
