About Jordi
Jordi Tura joined LION as a tenure-track Assistant Professor in November 2020. There, he researches on quantum algorithms for near-term devices and various problems in quantum information. He is one of the leaders of the Applied Quantum Algorithms interdepartmental initiative.
Short background
Jordi received his B.Sc. double-degree in Mathematics and Telecommunications Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, where he also obtained his M.Sc. degree in Applied Mathematics. He completed his PhD in Photonics in 2015 at ICFO - The Institute of Photonic Sciences at the Quantum Optics Theory group, on the characterization of entanglement and quantum correlations under symmetries.
He has held postdoctoral positions at ICFO and at the Theory Group of the Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics in Germany. Since 2022 he holds an ERC Starting Grant.
