Jelle Nijland has been connected to the Company Law Department, Institute for Private Law since June 2016.
Mr. J. Nijland graduated at Leiden University in Notarial Law and Civil Law. In 2013 he defended his Ph.D thesis on the subject of “The government undertaking. A study on the influence of government bodies in Dutch public limited companies”. This research concerns government influence in limited companies in order to safeguard the public interest.
He is a lecturer in Civil Notarial Law, Corporate Law and International Business Law courses and publishes in the field of Corporate Law. He regularly provides legal advice on different fields of civil and company law to public and private entities, such as the Ministry of Economic Affairs and state owned companies.
Since 2015 he is a member of the Examination appeals board (CBE) of Leiden University.
