Jatmiko is a researcher at the Regional Planning, Research, and Innovation Board in Pati, Central Java, Indonesia. He joined the Industrial Ecology department of CML in September 2024 as a PhD researcher. His research focuses on the flow and environmental impact of plastic waste in Indonesia.
Professional experience
Jatmiko has been a researcher at the Regional Planning, Research, and Innovation Board in Pati, Central Java, Indonesia, since 2009. His research primarily focuses on waste management, particularly converting waste into energy and valuable materials. He earned his bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Sebelas Maret University Indonesia in 2004. In 2016, Jatmiko completed a Master of Science through a double-degree program at Padjadjaran University in Indonesia and the University of Twente in the Netherlands. His master's thesis investigated the sustainability of biogas production from small-scale dairy farming in Indonesia. Currently, he is working as a PhD researcher in the Industrial Ecology Department at CML.
Research topic
Jatmiko receives support from the Government of Indonesia through the LPDP funding agency for his PhD research. His research examines the flows and environmental impacts of plastics in both terrestrial and aquatic environments, specifically within the context of Indonesia.
