Jasper De Paepe is a PhD candidate at the Institute of Security and Global Affairs. Jasper De Paepe has conducted research on local security networks, police lethal force and the interaction between experts and policy makers, as well as the acquisition of expert advice in the formulation of policy responses to the COVID-19 crisis in the EU and Indo-Pacific regions. Currently, he is focusing mainly on his PhD research 'E-community policing' which depicts the impact of digitalization on community policing.
Jasper De Paepe (1997) is a PhD candidate at the Institute of Security and Global Affairs. He conducts research on 'E-community policing' within his joint PhD at the Institute of Security and Global Affairs (Governance and Global Affairs, Leiden University) and the Department of Public Governance and Management (Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, Ghent University). In addition, he co-teaches an elective on 'policing'.
He previously studied Public Safety (Vives University College) and Public Administration and Management (Ghent University). Before joining Leiden University, he worked at the research group Governing and Policing Security (Ghent University). In the past, he co-taught the courses ‘Beleidsdomein Veiligheid’ and 'Change Management'.
