Research

I am primarily interested in the (morpho-)syntax of the noun phrase. My current research focus is on the role functional mediating elements (or classifiers) play in quantification and modification, based primarily on non-classifier languages (such as Dutch or Russian). I am fascinated by language as a cognitive system and excited to investigate the underlying principles of it. For me understanding linguistic structure means getting one step closer to undertanding human cognition. I work in the framework of generative syntax from a comparative perspective. Additionally, I am interested in innovative and potentially more reliable data collection methodologies, such as Virtual Reality (VR).
