Office days
Irene splits her time between Greece and the Netherlands. When she is in Leiden her office days are Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Research
Irene's research focuses on the ancient Greek road network during pre-Roman and Roman times in order to assess the extent to which Greek roads served as predecessors to the Roman ones. The extent to which roads complemented the established sea network in the region will also be explored. Irene's research will use combined methodologies such as literature, GIS analysis, remote sensing, and fieldwork.
