Fields of interest
Huliselan's field of interest concerns social dynamics in ancient Christianity. Her research subjects are mainly documents spanning the time period of 0-400 CE.
Research
In the research project 'Roman Fake News? Documentary Fictions in the Roman Empire' Huliselan will examine documents that were circulating at the time of emperor Constantine the Great. His public endorsement of Christianity encouraged both supporters and opponents of the religion to defend their positions through texts. All kinds of claims were employed, regardless of whether they were truthful or not. Huliselan will further explore these truth claims with modern theories of fake news, thus making connections between antiquity and the modern phenomenon.
