Hanneke is an external PhD candidate at eLaw. She performs research on the use of digital technologies for biodiversity monitoring with use case in Europe. The work explores the  environmental impact of the technologies used for monitoring biodiversity and governance behind monitoring biodiversity. Foundational concepts are sustainable development in the Anthropocene and global and planetary commons. 

Hanneke received her MSc Sustainable Development at Utrecht University, where her thesis focused on marine protected areas.  

Hanneke is also consultant for governmental organisations and (inter)national corporations and is familiar with CSR, GRI reporting standards and the CSRD. In her free-time she works on a regenerative farm.
