Hanna Griffiths Mumbrú's research aims to promote positive youth development, in both offline and online settings, through the application of socio-developmental neuroscience.
Research
Griffiths Mumbrú is part of the Growing Up Together in Society (GUTS) consortium which asks: how do young people with varying opportunities grow up in an increasingly complex society? She explores how friendships can impact an individuals' neural reward processes, self-regulation, empathy, and well-being over time. In her research, she uses a combination of fMRI techniques, social network analysis, and experimental tasks.
Short CV
For her bachelor's, Griffiths Mumbrú obtained a degree in Psychology from the University of Exeter (first-class honours), where she wrote her thesis on cognitive representations of moral decision-making. She was awarded a master's degree in Brain and Cognition from Erasmus University Rotterdam (cum laude). Her thesis was titled ‘Self-concept clarity predicts fear of negative evaluation during adolescence but not reflected self-evaluations: an fMRI study’.
