Research
My PhD research project focusses on the sociocultural meaning of the skin and skin marks in ancient Greek literary and scientific texts, and is part of the OIKOS Anchoring Innovation research agenda (supervisors: Prof. dr. I. Sluiter, Dr. T. A. van Berkel). I hold a BA in classics and a research MA in Literary Studies, both from Radboud University, Nijmegen. My research focusses mainly on the history of the body and medicine in the ancient Greek world, up to and including the Hellenistic period. I am particularly interested in interactions between literary and medical texts.
