Short CV
Gezinus Wolters (October 2, 1943) was associate professor of Cognitive Psychology at Leiden University until he retired in 2008. He still works as a guest researcher. His main interest is the structure and functioning of human memory. Central questions are what types of memory can be distinguished, and what their characteristics are. The last couple of years his interest focuses on how memory and control processes are implemented in the brain. Apart from his theoretical work, based on experimental and simulation (neural network) studies, he is interested in practical applications like the reliability of eyewitness memories. He regularly acts as an expert-witness in criminal court cases.
