Acho Gerald Anji is a PhD Candidate at the Institute of Security and Global Affairs, Leiden University. His research project focuses on the Localization of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325: The Case of South West and North West Women’s Task Force, Cameroon. His supervisors are Prof. Joachim Koops and Dr. Vanessa Newby. Acho's research interests include Women, Peace and Security Agenda in Africa; Peace, Security and Development; and the localization of peace and security policies.

Acho holds a Masters in Peace Studies and International Relations from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa with Distinction, a B.A. in Philosophy from the Pontifical Urbaniana University, Rome. Acho currently works as Program Lead: Eastern Africa Regional Peace Program for Arigatou International.
Acho has made significant achievements in integrating peace/ Conflict Sensitivity in development, whilst achieving targets within the challenging field of project coordination and resilience building among communities affected by conflicts in South Sudan, Sudan, Somalia, Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, Ethiopia, Burundi, and DRC Congo. Acho has a sound understanding of the development and humanitarian context in Africa, and the work of non-governmental organizations and other players in the sector.
