Teaching

Georgiana Bălău is a very passionate and enthusiastic Lecturer within the International Studies program. She teaches Economics (1st year course), Sociolinguistics (1st year course), PRINS (3rd year course). Her previous teaching responsibilities involved taking the roles of first supervisor and second assessor for Master’s theses. During her doctoral studies Georgiana also taught within the specialization course Strategy & Innovation Management, bachelor level, at the Department of Innovation Management and Strategy, Faculty of Economics and Business at University of Groningen.

Research background

Topics of interest: organizational/team/individual creativity, cognitive styles, co-creation.

Georgiana Bălău received her PhD from the Department of Innovation Management and Strategy, Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Groningen, in April 2017. Georgiana is particularly interested in research on creativity at different levels of analysis, understanding how individuals, teams and organizations process information and collaborate to get to creative outcomes. To address her scientific objectives, Georgiana has conducted experimental research and also relied on survey data on SME companies. Her research is published in R&D Management Journal, Creativity and Innovation Management Journal.

Prior education

Georgiana Bălău received her Research Master in Economics and Business: Production, Organization and Marketing (specialization: Human Resource Management and Organizational Behaviour) in 2011 and her Master of Science in Human Resource Management, in 2010, at the same Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Groningen. She was awarded with the title of Best Graduate when receiving her first master degree in Social Management and Community Development from the Faculty of Philosophy and Social-Political Sciences, at “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iași, Romania. She received her bachelor degree in Sociology from the same Faculty of Philosophy and Social-Political Sciences, “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iași, Romania.
