Frank Busing (Amsterdam, December 28, 1963) studied Psychology at Leiden University (master’s thesis: distribution characteristics of variance estimates in two-level models, 1993). In 2000, he received his qualification to teach at primary schools from the Hogeschool IPABO in Amsterdam. In 2010, Frank finished his PhD thesis: advances in multidimensional unfolding. His research topics reside in the field of multidimensional scaling, specifically multidimensional unfolding. Frank is responsible for PROXSCAL and PREFSCAL, multidimensional scaling and unfolding procedures within IBM SPSS Statistics. Currently, Frank is employed as assistant professor and researcher for the Section Methods and Statistics. He coordinates the first year statistics courses and lectures inferential statistics to first year psychology students and multidimensional scaling and unfolding to master student M&T and Statistical Science.
