Floris Mansvelt Beck is Assistant Professor in Law and Political Philosophy at the Institute of Political Science.
Floris Mansvelt Beck is Assistant Professor in Law and Political Philosophy at the Institute of Political Science at Leiden University. His research and teaching focus on liberal political thought, legal and political philosophy, and the intersections between ideology, law, and governance. He has a particular interest in the impact of technology on democracy, exploring how digitalization and emerging technologies shape political discourse, institutions, and governance.
Before joining Leiden University, Floris taught Public International Law at the Vrije Universiteit of Amsterdam, worked as a legal researcher in philosophy of law, and gained professional experience at the Netherlands’ national news agency ANP and the Ministry of Agriculture. He regularly contributes to public discussions on ethics, law, and political theory.
