Floris Harm is the executive director of the LeidenAsiaCentre, an independent knowledge centre dedicated to show the relevance of academic research on contemporary Asia to government, business, media and the general public. As the institute's manager, Floris Harm is responsible for the administration of research projects and the organization. A former journalist, Floris Harm is LAC's communication manager and its main spokesperson.

Research

Floris Harm, with experience as a China correspondent for multiple Dutch print and broadcast outlets, transitioned back to the Netherlands in 1999. At NOS News, he served in various capacities, including TV editor, research journalist, radio reporter, and Asia specialist. From 2011 to 2023, Floris held the position of program director and moderator at NOS Speakers’ Corner. Additionally, he served as the chairperson of the NOS Works Council. Floris pursued his academic studies in Chinese, specializing in Political Science, at both Leiden University and Peking University.
