Filipa is a geochemist interested in quantifying sustainable efforts. She joined the institute in 2024 as a Research Assistant, focused on expanding aquaculture data within the HESTIA platform (in collaboration with Oxford University).
Professional experience
Filipa graduated from the University of Lisbon with a Bachelor in Geology. Interested in continuing to explore Systems Science, she went on to pursue a Master degree at Utrecht University focusing on geosphere-hydrosphere interactions. The program, titled "Earth, Life and Climate", allowed for expansion onto microbiology and exploration of numerical methods. Determined to apply this theoretical knowledge to sustainable efforts, Filipa took an internship at Dayrize in 2024, where she was exposed to LCA methodology. This allowed her to transition to her current Research Assistant position to the Hestia project, under Patrik Henriksson.
Research topic
Filipa is working fully on the Hestia project, managing, uploading and interpreting agricultural data with the goal of expanding the library of an open-source impact assessment tool.
