Federico De Musso is Assistant Professor at the Institute of Cultural Anthropology and Development Sociology of Leiden University. He is the coordinator of the Master’s Visual Ethnography Specialization. His research and teaching interests include multimodal anthropology, political ecology, and the anthropology of food. His current research projects involve ideas of environmental and social exhaustion around the topics of energy production and videogame production.

At Leiden University, he also held a Postdoctoral Fellowship in the ERC Food Citizens? Collective food procurement in European cities: solidarity and diversity, skills and scale", where he specialised in interactive media. He received his PhD in Anthropology in 2021 at McGill University. He has also studied Cultural Anthropology at the University of Bologna (BA, MA) and the Anthropology of Food at SOAS, University of London (MA). His current research projects focus on ecological and economic strategies among different productive sectors (Food, Energy, Videogame) in Catalonia, Spain.
