Evelien Broekhof is an assistant professor in the unit Developmental and Educational Psychology of the Institute of Psychology at Leiden University.
Evelien Broekhof is an assitant professor in the unit Developmental and Educational Psychology of the Institute of Psychology at Leiden University.
She obtained her master’s degree at Leiden University in 2013, where she followed the Research Master in Developmental Psychology. During her research master she worked as an intern in the Emotion Focus Lab assisting in a large longitudinal study examining the social-emotional development of children with an Autism Spectrum Disorder and children with a cochlear implant. She wrote her thesis about the understanding of intentions, desires and beliefs in young children with an Autism Spectrum Disorder.
In her PhD project, supervised by Carolien Rieffe and Lizet Ketelaar, Evelien studied the influence of moral emotions on the social competence and mental health in deaf and hard of hearing children and adolescents.
