Eva is affiliated to the Europa Institute as PhD candidate since 1 June 2020.
Eva obtained bachelor's degrees in Language and Culture Studies (2015) and Psychology (2017), and a master’s degree in Social and Health Psychology – research (2020, cum laude) at Utrecht University. During her studies she worked as a student-assistant at the Psychology department and followed the Leadership Honours Program.
Since June 2020, she has been doing PhD research at the Europa Institute integrating social psychology with EU law. This interdisciplinary research investigates when the European Union is legitimate according to citizens, how that relates to social identities and moral values, and how these behavioral insights can inform legitimation strategies in EU law. Eva’s PhD research is supervised by prof. dr. Armin Cuyvers and prof. dr. Daan Scheepers, and is in collaboration with the Organisational Behaviour research group from Utrecht University.
Eva was a visiting researcher at the Legitimacy in Global Governance research group of Stockholm University in the spring of 2022. She has published in several peer-reviewed journals. In addition to her PhD research, she works on a research project on politically sensitive cases and public trust in the judiciary, for which she received a KLI seed money grant.
