Ernst Dijxhoorn is an assistant professor in the Institute of Security and Global Affairs (ISGA). He worked on the project ‘SNT Really Makes Reality: Technological Innovation, Non-Obvious Warfare and the Challenges to International Law’, funded by Economic and Social Research Council UK (ESRC) and the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (DSTL).

Ernst Dijxhoorn is an assistant professor in the Institute of Security and Global Affairs (ISGA).He obtained his PhD in War Studies from King’s College London in 2014, and holds a MA in International Peace and Security (King’s College London) and an LLM in International Public Law (University of Amsterdam). Prior to joining the Institute of Security and Global Affairs, Ernst taught at the Department of War Studies at King’s College London. He has held visiting lecturer positions at the Dickson Poon School of Law and at Royal Holloway, University of London Ernst’s main research interests include war crimes, international law, legitimacy and quasi-state entities. He worked on the project ‘SNT Really Makes Reality: Technological Innovation, Non-Obvious Warfare and the Challenges to International Law’, funded by Economic and Social Research Council UK (ESRC) and the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (DSTL). Ernst previously did research in South Sudan, Lebanon, and Kenya. He worked with James Gow and Funmi Olonisakin on an ESRC funded research project that led to a book he co-authored and edited on Militancy and Violence in West Africa.
