Dr van Beukering-Rosmuller joined the Institute of Private Law as an Assistant Professor on 1 September 2010.
E. J. M. (Ellen) van Beukering-Rosmuller teaches civil procedural law. She has academic and practical experience in several types of civil dispute resolution.
She has written various books and articles. Her current research focuses on the legal framework of ADR in civil disputes from a national and European/international perspective. The latter primarily involves European legislation and case law and their effect on the Dutch civil legal order. The UN Singapore Convention is also discussed in her work. Another research theme is the integration of mediation into other dispute resolution procedures (state court litigation, arbitration, binding advice). Classical legal themes concerning the mediation procedure are also an ongoing research topic.
Member of the editorial board of Tijdschrift voor Arbitrage. Advisor on the ADR/mediation legal framework.
Ellen van Beukering studied Dutch law at Nijmegen University and obtained her master’s degree (cum laude) in 1987. She obtained her doctorate at the same university in 1992. Her dissertation is in the area of transport law.
