Eleni Georgaki is a lecturer in Criminology at the Institute of Criminal Law and Criminology.
Eleni Georgaki is a lecturer in Criminology at Leiden University's Institute of Criminal Law and Criminology. She completed her bachelor's degree in Criminology at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in 2019 and her master's degree in Forensic Criminology at Leiden University in 2021. During her master's studies, she worked as a research intern on a study evaluating care conferences for long-term inmates (15+) in TBS (Dutch forensic psychiatric system) at the Institute of Criminal Law and Criminology. She then worked as a CDD analyst at Volksbank.
Teaching
As a lecturer, Eleni is involved in both undergraduate and postgraduate courses such as Introduction to Legal Psychology, Offenders, and Forensic Psychiatry. She also supervises bachelor's theses and is a tutor for first-year students.
Research
Alongside her role as a lecturer, Eleni plays an active role as a researcher in the field of forensic care. Her previous research has focused on the portrayal of forensic care in Dutch films and series. She is currently involved in a study commissioned by the WODC on the characteristics of people placed in long-term detention under a hospital order (TBS).
