Diah Angendari is a PhD Candidate at the Institute of Cultural Anthropology and Development Sociology. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Communication Science from Gadjah Mada University and a master’s degree from The University of Warwick.
Prior to joining the PhD program, Diah was a lecturer in the Department of Communication Science at Gadjah Mada University. Her research focuses on the intersection of digital policies and communication, with recent work exploring data practices in social commerce and the image-building strategies of Indonesian political leaders during COVID-19 crisis communication. She also brings four years of professional experience in brand marketing communication.
Diah’s dissertation examines the interplay between imaginaries, power, and interests in policymaking. Using case studies, her research investigates how these factors intertwine to shape the policy-making processes related to the Internet and artificial intelligence (AI) in Indonesia.
