A curious lover of all that there is to know. Fascinated by the evolution of life and selfish gene theory.
Research
One of the most dramatic changes in the evolution of life was the emergence of multicellularity, which led to larger and more complex life forms. It allowed organisms to evolve specialized cells and division of labor to become more efficient and functionally diverse. The advantages of multicellularity explain its many independent origins and the continuing diversification of multicellular animals, plants, fungi, and microbes. However, despite its ubiquity, we know very little about the dynamics and mechanisms of multicellular evolution.
