Chengjian started as a PhD researcher at the Industry Ecology department of CML in September 2018.
Professional experience
Chengjian obtained master degree in Environmental Science from Tongji University in 2018, and bachelor degree from Jiangsu University of Technology in Resource Recycling science and Engineering in 2015 in China respectively. During his master study, Chengjian researched the management of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) including laws, regulations, and collection practice, and also the resource recycling technology of WEEE. Specifically, he applied ultrasound technology into the resource recycling of battery waste, and also pay attention to the pollution control of this recycling process.
Chengjian started as a PhD researcher at the Industry Ecology department of CML in September 2018.
Research topic
Chengjian’s research is focused on sustainable treatment of battery waste stream from Electric Vehicles (EVs). Generally, there are a great number of treatment technologies for battery waste like reuse, cascaded use, and recycling either at industrial stage or at pilot stage. The aim of his research is to find the most environmentally-friendly treatment technology of battery waste from EVs using Life Cycle Assessment methodology, and then analyze to what extent can the treatment technology help close the loops of battery from EVs.
