Cécile Pick is a PhD candidate at the Institute of Political Science.
Cécile Pick is a PhD candidate at the Institute of Political Science. She obtained an MPhil in European Politics and Society from the University of Oxford and a BSc in International Relations and Organisations from Leiden University. While at the University of Oxford, she was a recipient of the Adam von Trott Scholarship. Before starting her current position, she worked as a junior lecturer at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and completed a traineeship at one of the EU’s consultative bodies–the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC).
Cécile's academic interest lies in the politics of development at the subnational level. Her doctoral research explores whether the formation of developmental coalitions—formal and informal alliances between political elites and the public—explains variation in the effectiveness of local governance in developing countries.
