Carsten Gerards is Principal Coordinator in the Rector’s Office at the College of Europe (Bruges). While pursuing a PhD project on the external dimensions of EU education policy at Leiden University, he is also affiliated to the Center for EU and Turkey Studies (CETEUS) at the University of Cologne. Previously, he worked – among others – for the Centre International de Formation Européene (CIFE) and the Max-Planck Institute for the Study of Societies. After completion of his studies in Social Sciences, Philosophy and Mathematics at the University of Cologne, Carsten obtained a post-graduate master’s degree in European Interdisciplinary Studies at the College of Europe in Natolin (Warsaw).
