During my studies in Biology with a specialization in Science Communication & Society, my passion for science communication was sparked. I worked as a student assistant for the courses Wetenschapscommunicatie voor Biologen and Informal Science Information, where my enthusiasm in this field fully bloomed. Currently, I am an Education and Research Staff member in the Science Communication & Society department, where we strive to improve the interaction between science and society.

My responsibilities include supervising Master's students with their research internships and theses, assisting the department with educational projects and administration, and organizing student events.

In addition to my primary roles, I have a keen interest in research related to mental health communication. As part of my Master’s internship, I conducted research on how mental health is portrayed in Dutch national newspapers. The results can help in making recommendations on how to describe mental health accurately and in a non-stigmatizing manner in newspapers, which will ultimately reduce stigma among readers.
